Abstract

Typed and signed letter written by journalist, satirist, and critic H. L. Mencken to Lorraine Yerkes mentioning Mencken's acquiantance with the late playwright and entrepreneur Wilson Mizner, his astonishment that Mrs. Paepcke's daughter is old enough to marry, and the "damndest flood of nuisance mail I have ever encountered" upon his return from his Florida vacation, dated April 17, 1948.
